Is IRS down right now?

irs.gov — live status, response speed and SSL.

Is it down for everyone or just you?

The check above runs from our servers, not your device. If it says irs.gov is responding but the site won't load for you, the problem is local. Restart your router, try your phone's data instead of wi-fi, clear your DNS cache, and switch off browser extensions one at a time.

Using IRS safely

Official government sites end in .gov. Any site charging a fee for a free government service, or a .com copy of a .gov address, is not official.
